Hyatt Regency Bethesda

Bethesda, MD 20814

Keynote Address: Laini Guinier, JD.

May 18 , 2006

Lani Guinier was the first black woman to be appointed to a tenured professorship at Harvard Law School. She is the author of several books including her most recent, The Miner's Canary, about the experience of people of color as a warning or “canary” signaling larger institutional inequities. Guinier's powerful memoir, Lift Every
