SODEXHO USA’S CHIEF DIVERSITY OFFICER NAMED TO
NATIONAL MULTICULTURAL INSTITUTE’S BOARD OF DIRECTORS

GAITHERSBURG, MD, December 21, 2004— Sodexho USA announced today that Senior Vice President and Chief Diversity Officer Dr. Rohini Anand has been named to serve a two-year term on the board of the National MultiCultural Institute (NMCI). NMCI is a private non-profit organization that has been in the forefront of the field of multicultural and diversity issues since its founding in 1983.

Prior to joining Sodexho USA, Anand served as the vice president and director of training for NMCI. “We are thrilled to have Rohini Anand as a board member, and welcome her return to NMCI where she has made a significant impact over a period of years,” said NMCI President and Founder Elizabeth Salett. “Her extensive knowledge and insight into the field of diversity will provide NMCI with a valuable resource.”
As chief diversity officer at Sodexho USA, Anand is responsible for implementation and alignment of Sodexho USA’s integrated diversity strategy. A leading expert in the field of diversity and inclusion, Anand is a frequent presenter at national and international conferences and has made numerous appearances on national TV as a subject matter expert in organizational change and diversity.

In addition, Anand is a published author and a noted conference presenter. She has authored several manuals and written many articles for trade journals.

Her works include texts on cultural competency and diversity training such as Customizing Diversity Training Using Case Vignettes (NMCI Publications, 2001), Multicultural case Studies: Tools for Training (NMCI Publications, 1999), Teaching Skills and Cultural Competence: A Guide for Trainers (NMCI Publications, 1997) and Cultural Competency in Health Care: A Guide for Trainers (NMCI Publications, 1997).

Dr. Anand serves on board of the Women’s Foodservice Forum, the Multi Cultural Food and Hospitality Alliance, and chairs the Professional Competencies Committee for the Diversity Leadership Forum, a Washington, DC-based organization for diversity practitioners.
